Ghana is set to welcome more than 10,000 innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from over 70 countries as the second Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) 2025 opens tomorrow at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

Organisers describe the three-day event as Africa’s largest celebration of entrepreneurship and a powerful signal that the continent’s digital and creative economies are ready to scale globally.

Running under the theme “The AI-Powered Entrepreneur: Creating a Sustainable Planet,” the festival will feature 12 flagship events, including a $35,000 AI & Sustainability Hackathon, the International Women’s Entrepreneurship Congress, the Kingdom Business Leaders Summit, a Global Investor Summit with pitch competitions, and a massive trade fair and exhibition open to the public with flash sales, product launches, and giveaways.

The festival coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week and has received high-level endorsement from President John Dramani Mahama, who pledged to attend and hailed GEF 2025 as a “historic moment” positioning Ghana as Africa’s gateway for innovation. Ghana secured hosting rights after a competitive global bid, with strong advocacy from media entrepreneur Bola Ray, credited as Country Board Chair, alongside the Entrepreneurship Village and Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs Organisation.

Confirmed exhibitors include visa consultancy AgoraVisa, promoting O-1 and EB-1 pathways for founders; transport company GIG Mobility, offering a 10% discount on rides for attendees; wellness brand PeakOra Wellbeing; and dozens of African startups spanning fintech, agritech, and creative industries. Nigeria’s Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has also declared a parallel regional summit to run alongside the main event.

Ambassadors such as broadcaster Natalie Fort have amplified the festival’s mission to empower African innovators and spotlight the continent’s projected $1 trillion digital economy by 2030.

With delegates already arriving in Accra and the official opening ceremony scheduled for tomorrow morning, GEF 2025 is poised to be a defining moment for Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and a vivid demonstration of African innovation on the world stage.
