President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate construction of a state-of-the-art auditorium at the Nigerian Law School's Abuja campus, to accommodate surging student numbers.

The announcement came during the flag-off ceremony for a 600-bed hostel project in Bwari, where FCT Minister Nyesom Wike revealed Tinubu's prompt response to concerns over lecture hall inadequacies. Wike, who raised the issue with the president late Wednesday, noted the directive underscores the administration's dedication to the justice sector, marking the second significant intervention at the campus within two years.

The hostel, awarded to a reliable contractor, is slated for completion in 12 months and will alleviate accommodation strains for aspiring lawyers. Wike highlighted the president's hands-on approach: "One thing I know is that you don’t promise what you will not do... Mr. President said, 'Go back and make sure another auditorium is built.'"

Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), a key supporter, praised Wike's advocacy, crediting him for feats like Yenagoa and Port Harcourt upgrades. Fagbemi confirmed prior donations—four Hilux vans, three Coaster buses and staff quarters—were well-utilized, adding, "History will be kind to him."

Law School Director-General, Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma, lauded the initiatives for prioritizing equity across campuses, including Yenagoa's completed facilities. "All we are doing in the justice sector today is because of his support," Fagbemi said of Wike.

The upgrades align with Tinubu's broader push for legal reforms and recent focus on welfare of the Judiciary, including digitizing the FCT High Court.
